Funky Friday Challenge Time

This weeks sketch challenge was set by Rosina

Here is my card. I think that Vintage Vogue is becoming one of my favourite stamp sets. It is really versatile - amazing what you can do with one set. it has the added advantage of having a co-ordinating wheel. The colours I have used are retiring exept for Elegant Eggplant and will be quite sad to see them go but on the other hand very excited that we are getting NEW colours.

SUPPLIES
Stamp Sets: Vintage Vogue, Very Vintage Wheel
Cardstock: Elegant Eggplant, Mellow Moss, Pale Plum, Whisper White
Ink: Pale Plum, Elegant Eggplant
Accessories: Mellow Moss taffeta ribbon, Ice Rhinestone brads, Frost shimmer paint

The flowers have been done with the rock 'n' roll technique. Ink up with a lighter colour first then roll the stamp around the edges on a darker colour.

Click here to see what the rest of the team came up with. It would be great if you would join in the challenge.

I am off to a workshop this morning for a friend and then will spend the rest of the day preparing for my BIG Stampin' Up! Day in Elie, Fife. If you know anyone in the East Neuk, let them know about my day.

Thanks for stopping by.

Funky Friday - Yummy Theme Challenge

This weeks challenge was set by Kelly and to have the theme of CHOCOLATE.

Here is my card. It is CASEd on a card by an American Stampin' Up Demonstrator called LeeAnn Greff. I found her blog when I was blog hopping the other night - click here to visit her blog and really liked her style. It kind of reminds me of a Boden shirt I have too. I used the Chocolate theme and have included a hint of strawberry! No stamping either.

SUPPLIES
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Ruby Red, Cameo Coral, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Scallop edge punch, Chocolate Chip grosgrain, gold elastic, Earth Elements and Neutrals buttons

Click here to see what the rest of the team came up with. It would be great if you would join in the challenge.

My youngest son had his first session at Playgroup this week and he loved it - I had my first 2 hours of alone time in ages and didn't know what to do with myself. I did get to have a lovely cup of HOT tea in peace though.

It is just me and the boys this weekend as David is off to Edinburgh for a Stag Night! Theo is going to an art class on Sunday morning so that should hopefully be fun.

Thanks for stopping by.

Stampin' Up! Event in the East Neuk of Fife (Elie)

I was brought up in a wee village in the East Neuk of Fife called Elie (just round the coast from St Andrews) and came up to Aberdeen to study at Robert Gordon's University and never left. Now 18 years later I am still here HOWEVER I regularly go back to Elie as my Mum still lives there. Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone - my boys aren't even aware what day it is and haven't asked for their eggs yet.

Anyway, I spend a fabulous night crafting away as part of the In Love With Stamping Forum April Cup Challenge. This was where we registered (everyone could enter not just Stampin' Up! Demonstrators) and put into a team. There were Lions, Owls, Monkeys and Giraffes. I was in the Giraffes.

We were set 5 challenges every hour from 7pm to 11pm. Click here to visit the gallery to see what was created last night (over 300 new images to browse through)

I would like to share with you 3 of my creations.

The first Challenge was to use the Babywipe technique - this means apply ink with a babywipe!

For this card I used a circular motion to apply the ink.

Supplies
Stamp Set: Autumn Days
Cardstock: Basic Black, More Mustard, Real Red, backing from DSP pack
Inks: Yoyo Yellow, Only Orange, Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Basic Black
Accessories: Silver brads, paper piercer, mat pack, stampamajig, linen thread

For this card I swiped the ink across the ink across the card.

Supplies

Stamp Set: Trendy Trees
Cardstock: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Inks: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Really Rust, Not Quite Navy
Accessories: Chocolate Chip Satin ribbon, stampamajig

The next challenge was to use the Wedding theme of something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

Something New: Occasional Greetings stamp set that I have just acquired
Something Old: Spot On wheel
Something Borrowed: Sieve to create background, candle
Something Blue: Ink and Cardstock

Supplies
Stamp Set: Occasional Greetings, Spot On wheel
Cardstock: Brilliant Blue, Whisper White
Inks: Brilliant Blue
Accessories: Silver elastic cord, paper piercer, stampamajig, wheel guide

What has made this night of crafting worthwhile is the fact the The Giraffes WON.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your chocolate eggs.

SWEET TREAT CUP WITH WATER TUTORIAL

This 24 page mini catalogue is packed with new goodies and includes 2 new hostess sets. Click on the piccie in my sidebar to view online or if you would like your own free copy please email me.

I would like to thank so many people who have left me comments on my blog hop projects. It was such good fun to see what everyone else came up with too.

So many people have asked how I did the whale card with the treat cup filled with water that I have done my first tutorial. I hope that is makes sense - if you have any questions then get in touch.

SUPPLIES:

Crystal Effects - 101055 - pg 91 of the main Idea Book and Catalogue (IBC) - £4.95
Thick Window Sheets - 117411 - pg 80 of the IBC - £7.95 I have used a 6.5cm square.
Stampin' Glitter - for the whale card I used Turquoise from the Fine Cosmo set - 117399 - pg 86 of the IBC
Sweet Treat Cups - 116802 - pg 9 of the Mini Catalogue - £2.50 for 12.
Teaspoon measuring spoon

1. Put a tiny amount of glitter in the Sweet Treat Cup - do not use too much as when you add the water it will go clumpy.

2. Measure just over 1 teaspoon of water into the cup - it should be about 1/3 full. This amount allows the image to be seen behind nicely.

3. Remove the liner tape from the rim of the cup. Remove the blue backing sheet from one side of the thick window sheet and put this side onto the adhesive of the cup. Press REALLY FIRMLY all the way round. Remove the other blue backing sheet, by keeping this sheet on means that you wont get fingerprints whilst firming the window sheet onto the adhesive.

4. Turn over and now run a line of crystal effects around the edge of the cup just over the rim and on the window sheet. LEAVE TO DRY.

5. Once dry you are now ready to make your card.

I would love to see your examples with this technique so please link back to me and I can visit you.

Thanks for stopping by.
